The 11th Hour addresses one of the great questions of existence — death and what comes after it — through a blend of contemporary dance, satire and dark humour. Conceived as a choreographic diptych, the performance brings together Rachel Lum’s and Sam Coren’s perspectives on endings, loss and the ways people construct narratives to make sense of the unknown.
The two works that make up the performance draw on different choreographic languages, united by a shared reflection on the fragility of existence. Humour, absurdity and theatricality become tools for approaching a serious subject from an unexpected perspective.
