Trained at the London Contemporary Dance School, where he completed undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in performance and choreography, Sam Coren develops a practice at the intersection of dance, theatre, visual imagery and movement direction.
As a performer, he has worked with Jasmin Vardimon Company and Hofesh Shechter Company, among others, while his subsequent work has expanded into choreography, theatre and work for the camera. Moving between different performance media is one of the defining features of his artistic career.
For The 11th Hour, presented at STEPS 2026, Sam Coren choreographs Death to Duets, which forms a diptych with Rachel Lum’s creation.
